UMaine Intermedia MFA Installation Students Host
FREESE POP in downtown Bangor!

Please join us December 12th, from 5-7pm, for the opening of the Freese Pop art show featuring works by graduate students in the new Intermedia MFA Program at the University of Maine. We invite you to experience site specific installations, exploring themes relating to the building, its history and the artists’ relationship to the community.   The installations alter the space utilizing a variety of media and materials including pancakes, old clothing, graffiti, wheatgrass, and interactive digital technologies. The show will be held in the unoccupied spaces of the old Freese’s department store, next to the Maine Discovery Museum, in downtown Bangor. Artworks will be displayed on the first and third floors of the building.

The show is being organized by students, with the support of Visiting Intermedia Professor, Vanessa Vobis. Participating artists include John Bell, Richard Corey, Gabriella DíItalia, Bethany Engstrom, Julian Epps, William Giordano, Alexander Gross, Ryan Guerrero, Allison Melton and Abigail Stiers.

Freese Pop will run from December 12th to December 17th. The Freeses Building is located at 10 Water Street, at the corner of Water and Main Streets, in downtown Bangor.

Special thanks to Realty Resources Management for generously providing the space.
